Phuket

VACATION!

Phuket is definitely a good break! I enjoyed every moment there. I was really excited once i got off the plane (or maybe even b4 it landed hehehe). It felt like returning home... i hv always liked Thailand. Just the 3 of us... me, H & E. Picked up by the hotel.. which cost an additional B1,200. The driver was so quiet... can't hardly get a word from him... that is not a good sign! paid so much for nothing!... not even 'hello'. It was a 1-hour ride... got to the Le Meridian Beach Resort... Really nice! It has its own private beach... a beautiful one too. They upgraded our room from garden view to sea view... so it was really nice... we got a room near to the beach but 3 floors up... so we have a great view of the whole beach and the whole resort. three of us shared the xtra large king bed comfortably(the receptionist insist on giving us an xtra bed but we didn't want it to spoil the beautiful room). After unpacking and changing to our beach clothes (read: shorts and tshirt) we decided to go out to Patong town which is 15 minutes away (our hotel is secluded for privacy hehehe) to get some snacks and book tickets for fantasea... this time the hotel driver, Mr Bond was really friendly so i decided to use my Thai for the 1st time... made it easier for him... he was impressed i could speak thai so he offered to make a detour so we cn buy fantasea tix before he dropped us off at the mall. very nice of him... at the agent.. we saw some pamhplets of the activities we wanted to do... i spoke thai and bargain with them... so we got a very good deal. We booked the fantasea for B1,500, simon's cabaret (most popular cabaret by transvestite and gayboys) VIP tix for B600, and island hopping trip.

Mr Bond said we should go early to have time to walk around Fantasea. i asked him to arrange for our transport there since the agent is going to charge us B900 for the trip... he said, he cn ask his fren to take us there for cheaper. So it was nice of him... it saved us B300. His fren, James was quite friendly but he had trouble speaking english so he didn't speak much. Btw, Fantasea was a spectacle... the place itself is like a different world... it was so nice but u could never capture the real thing on camera... u hv to go there to know it. the show might not be very interesting but i was impressed by how well they coordinate things .. the mix of culture and modern techniques and very good animal training (the elephants, chickens, goats and even birds can act!). We got back to the hotel around 11.30pm... we were too sleepy to think of dinner... so we didn't bother to get anything to eat. We arranged for James to pick us up the next morning. He agreed to take us around for B1,100 a day (we bargained from the standard B1,400).

2nd to 5th day in Phuket will be continued in the next post... I am so very tired.

Btw, exam results are out... i think i did real good. i am happy... i think it was worth the effort... Abah would be happy... but if he wants me to continue with my PhD... am so not doing it in the nearest time. Need to get a job.

About my fren, A... not knowing seems to be an advatage for me... coz i would know nothing is for sure and i can still hope for the best. I am not frustrated with myself anymore. I am starting to see things differently. But the worry will still be there... the sadness will still be there. Only self-frustration had resolved.. so it kind of lessen the sadness and my down time. I am happy to live life as it is... savouring everything i have at this moment :)
